Enclosure I is one of three enclosures within the settlement with associated hut circles. Its walls are composed of large boulders of moorland granite remaining in some places to a height of 1.0 meters. The wall can be traced all the way round its course, but is in poor condition. At the western side of the main enclosure is a small rectangular enclosure, which is subdivided into two parts by a wall near its northern end. The secondary enclosure is in a fair condition; its eastern wall stands to a height of 0.75 meters and is bound with turf.

Fragments of four sub-rectangular enclosures are associated with the hut circles, varying in size from 0.06 hectares to 0.24 hectares they are bounded by stony banks averaging 1.5 meters and 0.6 meters high. These features have suffered heavily from stone robbing and none possess obvious entrances. Five hut circles are associated with these enclosures (8, 15, 16, 24 and 36); three are adjoined by the enclosure walls (8, 16 and 24). Other details: 12 (Fig 4). Map object based on this Source.
