Exeter Museums Archaeological Field Unit, 1992 - 1993, Blackdown Hills Survey Archive (Archive - Survey). SDV324187.

Vis=14/09/1992 (simpson and noble). This field sits in the saddle between dumpdon and hartridge hill and is not a good site for a beacon. Could the field be named after the nearby hamlet? nothing suggestive of a beacon is visible in the field.
