An irregular earthwork pit, circa 30 metres across, is visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947 and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. It is named as a gravel pit on the late-19th century OS mapping, and had probably become disused by the early-20th century when it was depicted but not named. The earthwork is interpreted as the remains of a post-medieval or early modern gravel extraction pit.
