A stone in use as a gate post near lower upcott. It is a roughly shaped post of rectangular section and has a square socket cut on its top surface. May be part of a cross (masson phillips). Vis=23/11/1978 (king). Does not resemble a cross. Similar to other gateposts in the area.

Lower Upcott SX580955
A cross shaft is in use as a gatepost to the higher entrance to Lower Upcott, about half a mile from Okehampton Town centre, on the road to Hatherleigh. A cross shaft, roughly shaped, of rectangular section having a square socket cut in its top surface. It bears an Ordnance Surface benchmark on the lower part of the shaft.
Shaft height 1.08 metres, width 0.30 by 0.22 metres.
