A group of post-medieval to 19th century extraction pits are visible as earthwork pits on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the north of Oak Copse. The three earthworks, which measure between 21m to 96m in length, are partly depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map, with the larger of these to the east being defined as an earthwork.
