A gravel pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the northeast of Broadley Hill. The earthwork is irregular in shape and measures approximately 52m in length by 19m in width. A small gravel pit is depicted and labelled here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map, although is clearly much larger in size. It remains visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016.
