Earthworks of a sub-oval pit and an irregularly shaped bank, both circa 24 metres long, are visible on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019.
The pit corresponds with an earthwork labelled as ‘Old Quarry’ on both the late-19th century and early-20th century First and Second Edition Ordnance Survey maps. A curvilinear earthwork is also shown in this location on the 2021 Ordnance Survey MasterMap.
The earthworks are therefore interpreted as a post-medieval or early to mid-19th century quarry with associated spoil heap that had passed out of use by the late-19th century.
The earthworks are not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to thick tree cover of Ashleigh Blaxton Coppice.

Ordnance Survey, 2021, MasterMap 2021 (Cartographic). SDV364015.

The pit partly corresponds with a curvilinear earthwork.
