An earthwork pit, approximately 50 by 20 metres with irregular edges, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards and on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. It corresponds to the ‘Old Shaft’ depicted on the historic mapping in this location. An earthwork platform just to the south-west, circa 125 by 30 metres, is also visible on the lidar visualisations, and may have been a working area associated with the tin industry here. The earthworks are sited at the end of openwork MDV28243 and may have resulted from reworking of this previously exploited area.
