A clay pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the northeast of Phillishayes Farm. The irregular shaped earthwork measures approximately 85m in length by 41m in width and is partly depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s.
