Two irregular earthwork pits are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. One corresponds to an area of scrub and trees and the other to a small enclosure, probably a pond, depicted on the historic maps. They are interpreted as former extractive pits that went out of use by the late-19th century.
