Full description

Gerrard, S., 1990-2002, Monument Protection Programme. Archaeological Item Dataset., MPP 130847 (Report - Survey). SDV277946.

22/02/1993 (SX 5712 6528) Hut circle terraced into the hillslope, and of the simple plan and rubble bank walling type. Interior measures 6.5m in diameter and is defined by a 1.1m wide wall standing up to 0.3m high on the west and as a clearly defined terrace elsewhere. Attached to a 1m wide and 0.4m high stone faced lynchet, which leads south-west.
This hut may pre-date the main phase of Bronze Age occupation, because it has clearly been partly robbed and this is most likely to have occurred in antiquity, perhaps at the time when the nearby agglomerate enclosure was being built and occupied.
