Gravel pits are depicted on 19th and early 20th century Ordnance Survey maps. Earthworks expanded by addition extraction are visible on aerial photographs of 1946. Much of the northern workings are obscured by dense tree cover on digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2015, but an oval pit at circa SX91967667 appears to remain in use.
The earthworks were not transcribed as part of the survey.
