Summary

A series of cropmark ditches of a possible double-ditched prehistoric enclosure are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1984 onwards, to the southwest of Langworthy, Bratton Clovelly.

Enclosure sw bannadon. Irregular rectilinear enclosure, either double-ditched or with several phases of reworking, about 100m diam. Recorded as a cropmark site from the air in 1988 by f. Griffith (aph).

An irregular rectilinear enclosure, either double-ditched (roughly 76m x 73m interior ditched enclosure and 88m x 86m outer dimensions) or with several phases of re-working, is visible on aerial photographs (p1). It has been digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme. A further length of ditch roughly 50m in length encloses the NE corner of the outer ditch. The smallest, interior enclosure is the most complete, with a 16m break in its eastern length. A 3.8m wide length of ditch running N-S is visible within the enclosure.
