Summary

The remains of a cairn of 16 metres diameter and 1.1 metres high constructed of turf covered boulders. It is in good condition except for a small central disturbance and a modern marker cairn, 0.8 m high and 1 m diameter. This site is on the local list of Nationally Important Dartmoor sites.

(20/04/1950) Heather-covered cairn in good condition.
(10/07/1977) SX 66836838 This round platform cairn, 16 m diameter and 1.1 m high, is constructed of turf covered boulders. It is in good condition except for a small central disturbance and a modern marker cairn, 0.8 m high and 1 m diameter. It lies on the broad level summit of Snowden at 495 m above OD.

Snowdon '3' cairn at SX66846838 of 13.5 metres diameter by 1.2 metres high. This cairn retains its shape better than the others, with fewer stones exposed and more shallow pitting.

This site was considered for designation as a Scheduled Ancient Monument during the Monument Protection Programme. The programme ended before the entire list of sites was successfully scheduled so this is included on a local list of Nationally Important Sites.
