(04/04/1995) Animal run survives as a Y-shaped gully and is situated within a partially enclosed hut settlement. The animal run survives as a Y-shaped gully with the third arm extending north-north-east from the point of the V. The northern arm measures 40m long, 0.9m wide and 0.2m deep. Material upcast during its construction forms a 1.3m wide and 0.15m high bank on the downslope side. The north-western arm measures 30m long, 0.8m wide by 0.2m deep and the associated upcast bank is 1m wide and up to 0.2m high. The south-western arm measures 20m long, 0.7m wide by up to 0.3m deep and the associated bank lies on the northern side and is 1.2m wide and 0.3m high.
This gully probably represents part of a complex system of animal runs in which rabbits and vermin could have been trapped. The National Trust Upper Plym inventory records the south-west arm as extending for a total of 95m. The upper length is however a natural gully.

(These additional branches of the network were originally recorded separately by the HER, based on the National Trust report):
Ditch with bank on west side, 1.3m wide, 0.15m high. Runs from main south-west by north-east aligned drain to drain SX56SE/488. Measures 40m long, 0.9m wide, 0.2m deep and is oriented south-south-west by north-north-east.
Ditch with bank on west side, 1m wide, 0.2m high. Runs north-west from main south-west by north-east aligned ditch. Measures 30m long, 0.8m wide, 0.3m deep and is oriented south-east by north-west.
