Full description

Turner, J. R., 1976, Ancient Monuments on Forestry Commission Land. Fernworthy and Bellever (Report - non-specific). SDV351823.

Bellever Plantation Lakehead (7.A) SX64387808
Hut circle measuring 7.0 metres in diameter, on a platform site cut into a north-facing slope, very ruined. Largest stone, 1.1 by 0.25 metres (thick) by 0.7 metres above the ground. Not investigated.
Recommendations of the 1976/7 committee: (April 1976) In the broad central clearing zone. One tree in west side of wall.

Stone hut circle forming part of a partially enclosed stone hut circle settlement known as Kraps Ring. Diameter 8.0 metres, double and single orthostat wall 1.2 metres wide, 0.6 metres high. Internal area 50.24 metres. Not enclosed. A 10 degree facing gap with thickening of either side may be a door. Deciduous trees on western wall, elsewhere grass and bilberry.

SX 64387806. Approximately 40 metres south-south-west of the enclosure, a large hut with internal diameter of 7.3 metres, consisting of a ring of large, mostly displaced boulders, set into a grassy bank of up to 2 metres wide by 0.4 metres high. The maximum height of the stones is 0.5 metres. A small tree is growing within the western section of the hut wall.
