One of a group of hut circles in an agglomerated enclosure on Lee Moor above Spanish Lake. An infilled sub-rectangular hut measuring 2.5 metres north to south by 1.9 metres bounded by walls 1.3 metres wide and 0.6 metres high. Adjoined by MDV53358.

Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1950, SX56SE3 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV139161.

Enclosure and hut circles. A compound enclosure of the usual Dartmoor type. Walling of turf and heather covered stones reaching an average height of 0.5 metres. No obvious entrances.
Hut circle D. Diameter approximately 5.0 metres, fragmentary. Entrance probably to the north, opening into the enclosure.

Hut D. Conjoined plan and rubble bank walling type. Interior measures 2.6 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1.4 metres wide wall standing up to 0.4 metres high. Attached to the north edge of hut E.
