Full description

Allen, J., 13/12/1985, Fine Pointed Ovate Lower Palaeolithic Handaxe (Museum Collection). SDV358995.

Fine pointed ovate Lower Palaeolithic handaxe of pale brown Greensand chert, 166 x 90 millimetres. Intact except very minor chips on long edge. Found at Harpford Woods, Newton Poppleford, in 1969. Apparently found with another (precise circumstances unknown).

Two Prehistoric handaxes found in 1969 in undulating area of woodland in Harpford Woods. Other details: EX-3 No 2.
