"Observation Post" recorded on 1965 historic map as a small circular feature.

(05/09/1993) The remains of an artillery observation post lie in marshy ground above the headmire of Brim Brook on the NW flank of Okement Hill at SX 5956 8830. They comprise a low, turf-covered stony mound, measuring 12.7m N-S by 10.8m and 0.4m high. The south side of the mound displays fragments of cast concrete and corrugated iron, the remains of the shelter.

(22/01/2004) This feature remains as described in 1993 though the metalwork has been removed in recent years.

The origin of this feature is uncertain, although many Observation Posts on Okehampton Range are thought to date from the early 20th century (citing Mills, D., personal comment O/C Live Firing, Okehampton Camp , Devon).
