Name:Ruined threshing mill round house, Little Frenchbeer Farm

Summary

The remains of a threshing mill round house at Little Frenchbeer. Abutting a 19th century barn it is about 7.5m in diameter with mortared walls of boulders and stones, 0.7m wide, and a maximum 2.0m high internally. Three small openings which held the cross beams of the internal threshing machinery pierce the upper part of the wall at regular intervals. No trace of the machinery remains and the structure is covered by a modern galvanised iron roof.

(02/05/1990) SX 6753 8574. The remains of a threshing mill round house at Little Frenchbeer. Abutting a C19th barn it is about 7.5m in diameter with mortared walls of boulders and stones, 0.7m wide, and a maximum 2.0m high internally. Three small openings which held the cross beams of the internal threshing machinery pierce the upper part of the wall at regular intervals. No trace of the machinery remains and the structure is covered by a modern galvanised iron roof.
