Full description

BIRD + HIRST, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV221965.

Brimpts south mine - gully. 'adit shaft'. Now visible only as a conical depression at the narrow e end of the gully, this shaft is shown on the 1854 mine plan (see dro). It connected with the deep adit 17m below and was presumably for ventilation. It is not thought to be earlier that the 1849-55 operations (bird + hirst).
