Summary

Vis=19/6/1996 (gerrard) at above ngr + sx63009169. Two reservoirs lie upslope of an eluvial streamwork and were supplied with water by a leat. The w reservoir is situated at sx63009169 and survives as a 4m wide v-shaped bank standing up to 1m high, upslope of which is a hollow which would have contained the water and which was formed by the digging of material to construct the dam. The second reservoir is situated at sx63059173 is also v-shaped and was supplied by leat sx69sw/211. The dam survives as a 3.7m wide and 1m high bank, with a 12m long s and 7m long n arm. Water from this reservoir was carried further s in a 0.8m wide and 0.3m deep leat (mpp).

(19/06/1996) At SX 6305 9173 and SX 6300 9169. Two reservoirs lie upslope of an eluvial streamwork and were supplied with water by a leat. The western reservoir is situated at SX 6300 9169 and survives as a 4m wide V-shaped bank standing up to 1m high, upslope of which is a hollow which would have contained the water and which was formed by the digging of material to construct the dam. The second reservoir is situated at SX 6305 9173 is also V-shaped and was supplied by leat SX69SW/211. The dam survives as a 3.7m wide and 1m high bank, with a 12m long southern and 7m long northern arm. Water from this reservoir was carried further south in a 0.8m wide and 0.3m deep leat.
