Summary

Latrine. Possibly us navy type. Construction: cold-rolled fabricated steel arched-shaped ribs forming a span of 20 feet and spaced at four feet centres creating a building 48 feet long. Function: this is thought to be the only usn supply prefabricated hut erected on the airfield site at upottery - it is not shown on the site plan, but appears to have been used as a latrine block. Now in poor condition but many of the cast-iron toilet cisterns are still in-situ and are in good condition (francis).
