Summary

Mechanical and electrical plinth. Construction: nine inch walled enclosure. Function: this was the sub-station for the adjacent stand-by set house (now demolished). Here, in the event of a power failure from the outside supply, the transformer and switchgear. Could automatically be brought into operation to provide an alternative electrical supply to essential buildings. Not inspected internally but seems to be in good condition.
