Narrow ridge and furrow is visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s and images derived from lidar data captured in 2013, as earthworks over an area of approximately 1.6 hectares, to the north of Marsh Lane, Chudleigh. The visible earthworks are closely spaced, circa 7m wide and are orientated roughly north-east to south-west, aligned on the upper slopes of a combe that drops to the north to the Oxencombe Brook. The banks probably post-date the removal of field boundaries depicted on the Tithe map for Chudleigh and were probably made in the later 19th century to early 20th century date to improve drainage across a saddle of land between two combes. Similar banks visible in a field to the east probably post-date the 1940s and have not been transcribed.
