Full description

Gerrard, S., 1990-2002, Monument Protection Programme. Archaeological Item Dataset., MPP 144062 (Report - Survey). SDV277946.

(09/4/1997) SX 6525 8538 Round cairn situated at the head of the valley between Shovel Down and Stonetor Hill. Diameter measures 4m, height 0.6m. This cairn lies 2m from a leat embankment. Its position relative to the leat embankment and the fact that it was not disturbed during its construction suggests that this mound may not be prehistoric. However, its association with another mound and ring cairn suggests a possible Bronze Age date.
