Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1956-1974, SX68NE14 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV274636.

A a small hut in the northern quadrant of the pound had been previously excavated and was not examined during the 1951-2 excavations (Ordnance Survey citing Kestor 1954 Interim Report).

Stone hut circle forming part of a prehistoric settlement within the Kestor coaxial field system. Measures 3.5 metres in diameter with a single orthostat wall 0.6 metres wide, 0.6 metres high. Internal area measures 9.61 metres. Lies within the Roundy Pound (SX66388685).

Small hut circle of 3.0 metres diameter in the northern part of 'Round Pound, Kes Tor' which may be an unroofed pen. It was excavated but nothing was found to indicate its function or date.

The peripheral hut is less well preserved, possessing a partial circle of upright stones enclosing an area 2.8 metres in diameter. There is no obvious entrance.
