Name:Cairn north-east of Dunnabridge Pound

Summary

There are eight small cairns in Lar Tor newtake, south of Laughter. Three of them were examined in 1903 and all had underlaying pits containing charcoal. One of the cairns was 4m in diameter and stood near the boundary wall to Brimpts newtake. Another cairn, 7m in diameter was "nearest the gate leading into Higher Dunnabridge newtake". A ruined cairn in Brimpts newtake was also examined.

Worth, R. H., 1903, 22nd Report of the Barrow Committee, 141 (Article in Serial). SDV288725.

There are eight small cairns in Lar Tor Newtake, south of Laugh Tor. Three of them were examined in 1903 and all had underlaying pits containing charcoal. One of the cairns was 12 feet diameter and stood near the boundary wall to Brimpts Newtake. Another cairn, 22 feet diameter, was "nearest the gate leading into Higher Dunnabridge Newtake". A ruined cairn in Brimpts Newtake was also examined.
