Summary

Uppaton farm. Earliest documentary evidence is in 1330 when it was the home of robert de uppeton. Earliest map showing uppaton is a surveyors drawing of 1806-7 which depicts buildings flanking the road. The 1840 tithe map shows four dwellings + the 1839 tithe apportionment lists the house, yard + outhouses to the east of the road + two cottages to the west. The majority of the buildings on the east side still existed in 1907. Dcc farm estate records note that the farm buildings included a range of stone built shippons with lofts above (ea).
