Summary

'north park' + 'south park' shown on the north + south banks of the 'north teign river' to the south of 'gidleigh tor'. 'south park' is delimited by the parish boundary with chagford. These parks may originally have been associated with 'gidleigh castle' at ngr sx671-885- or 'gidleigh park' at ngr sx67708800. The park together with 'scorhill' once fromed part of the ancient 'gidleigh chase' which was formerly much larger + open to the forest (gallant).
