Summary

One of a group of seven unenclosed hut circles in a settlement north of Hemstone Rocks in Fernworthy Forest. This hut of 6.0 metres diameter with walls 1.5 metres wide by 0.4 metres high is one of the western huts of the group and is in slightly better condition.

Fernworthy Hemstone Rocks (F) Hut circle (2F)
Hut circle 21 metres east-north-east of hut 1F, on a south-east facing slope. Measures 5.7 metres diameter. Walls measure 1.2 metres thick, largest stone measures 0.8 metres in height, 1.2 metres wide, 0.2 metres thick. Has twice been planted over.
February 1976. Posts ringing clearance zone enclosing 1F and 2F. All agreements carried out.

Site visit 28th April 1997. Hut circle at SX64803880 forming part of unenclosed settlement. Diameter 6.0 metres. Rubble bank wall 1.5 metres wide, 0.4 metres high. A single partly fallen orthostat leading through the wall may represent a doorway.
