Summary

Hut Circle 'E' of 6.1 metres diameter with walls 1 metre wide by 0.6 metres high in settlement south-west of White Ridge. One of a group of six huts excavated by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee in 1896.

One of a group of hut circles at white ridge excavated. Diameter 4.88m. This hut had a curved paved approach to the entrance. Charcoal covered floor, but no hearth or platform found. Several fragments of coarse, badly burnt pottery, a flint flake, ten cooking stones or parts of, and a muller upper stone (length 305mm, width 230mm, thickness 115mm) found. Three flint scrapers found near the stream (Lade Hill).
