Full description

Exeter Archaeology, 2003, East Devon Heathlands Archaeological Survey, 59, Part 2: Gazetteer, Site No. 216 (Report - Survey). SDV101648.

Hollow way aligned northeast/southwest, traced for circa 100 metres southwest of grid reference and seen to continue further to northeast. At southwest end, feature measures circa 1.5 metres by 2 metres wide by 0.4 metre deep. Feature broadens out to ne where it is up to 3.5 metres wide by 0.5 metre deep; with bank 4 metres wide on its southeast side. Lies in area of dense gorse/bracken. There are several paths on this alignment in the general vicinity on the modern Ordnance Survey 1:2500 map and it is possible that the hollow way represents one of them. None of the paths are depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1891 1:10560 map (Sheet 81NE).

Hollow way aligned northeast/southwest, traced for circa 100 metres southwest of grid reference and seen to continue further to northeast. At southwest end, feature measures circa 1.5 metres by 2 metres wide by 0.4 metre deep. Feature broadens out to ne where it is up to 3.5 metres wide by 0.5 metre deep; with bank 4 metres wide on its southeast side. Lies in area of dense gorse/bracken.
