Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880s, Ordnance Survey (Cartographic). SDV848.

Site of 'Halse Cottages' shown on OS 25" (1880s) map as a terrace of about ten small cottages with outbuildings on the north side on a track set back to the north of the road. The cottages are to the east of East Halse & West Halse farmsteads.

Until 1887 the tannery at Halse was a thriving industry which had 15 cottages to house the employees.
