Full description

Buck, C., 2002, Devon Great Consols: Archaeological Assessment, 155, Figs 9,16,38 (Report - Assessment). SDV241758.

Site of an aqueduct shown on the OS (1884) map which may also have been the site of a water wheel. Water from the arsenic refining complex at Wheal Anna Maria may have emerged from a tunnel at this site & was the source of the long leat (see PRN 56107) that went to Wheal Fanny around the side of Blanchdown Wood prior to 1866. The survey in 2002 found no trace of this feature apart from water emanating from the hillside. Other details: Site 219.
