Full description

Nature Conservancy Council, 1989, Braunton Burrows Habitat Map (Cartographic). SDV339613.

A signpost is marked on the Braunton Burrows Habitat Map.

Passmore, A. + Knight, S., 2009, Farm Environment Plan (FEP), Updated Spreadsheet of Archaeological Sites (Un-published). SDV344664.

Not marked on US Army plans so may post-date the World War II training ground. However it is located next to a road/track shown on the 1946 aerial photographs so it may be contemporary with the use of Braunton Burrows as a World War II training area.
Visited 2009. At NGR 246295135055 is a post formed from a semi-circular tree trunk which has a carved recess for a sign (sign removed). Probably of modern date.
Poor condition. Heavily weathered.

Breeds, J., 2011, Untitled Source (Personal Comment). SDV346381.

This was a Ministry of Defence warning post set in a concrete-filled drum. Other details: Correspondence with S. Knight.
