Full description

Department of Environment, 1989, Hartland (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV339738.

King's Arms.
Inn. Early-mid 19th century possibly with earlier origins. Rendered stone walls. Gable ended slate roof. Brick stack on rubble stone base at left-hand end and brick axial stack.
Plan: probably basically a 17th century 3 room plan house but considerably remodelled in early-mid 19th century and internal plan altered in 20th century.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 5 window front with the left-hand end recessed. This has a large 20th century pane 19th century hornless sash on each floor. 19th century 4-panel door to right. A 20th century plank door leads into the left-hand end wall of the projecting range. This has 12-pane hornless 19th century sashes apart from a 20th century replacement on the ground
floor to the right.
Interior: 19th century panelled shutters to front windows.
