Full description

Part of group of outbuildings approximately 5 metres east of Westcott Barton. Detached structure of stone with slated roof with gable ends. 2 storeys. Ground floor formerly housed cider press and has central double wooden doors under timber lintel and timber wall plate with a 2-light casement 3 panes per light to left. 6-paned casement to left and larger blocked window opening to right above. External stone steps at left-side gable end lead to medieval shouldered doorway with early plank door. Fireplace with timber lintel on east wall. Blocked window on south wall. A blocked opening to left of doorway with impost blocks and smaller niche to left with timber lintel suggests this may be only a portion of an early structure. The front wall is painted. Attached to building on south side is a small single storey shed with gable-ended slate roof with a blocked doorway on internal left-hand wall formerly opening into cider mill house.
