A possible extraction pit of likely post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the southeast of Carradale Farm. The oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 34m in length by 20m in width and is symbolised as a pond on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s, in an area where numerous other such features are depicted. It is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 2000, although is largely obscured by tree cover.
