Full description

Royal Commission for the Historical Monuments of England, 1987-1993, Duchy Farms Project Survey Visit, S. Probert (Report - Survey). SDV350839.

(15/08/1991) SX 64218639. A single-roomed tinner's hut built into a spoil heap in an extensive area of streamworks (SX 68 NW 51) on the right bank of the North Teign River. The coursed boulder walls, a maximum of 0.9m high and about 0.8m thick, enclose an area 4.9m N-S by 1.7m. There is no obvious entrance and no identifiable internal features. None of the stones exhibit drill-splitting evidence. (See RCHME survey 'Shovel Down' at 1:2500 scale).

Recording of a small tinner's building sited among streamworks, set back from the east bank of the North Teign River. The structure measures approximately 5 by 2 meters internally.
