Summary

Farmstead dates to at least the 15th or 16th century, based on documentary evidence and the date of the farmhouse which still retains the traditional longhouse layout. Tithe Map depiction could not be accessed at this time. The farms layout has not changed since the late 19th century map depiction.

Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

This farm lies in an area that used to belong to Bovey Tracey parish, rather than Lustleigh. The farm should be visible on the Tithe Map but this area of the Bovey Tracey map is not available; possibly due to damage.

Willmead is depicted on the late 19th century historic map. The farmhouse lies to the north-east of the site, with a building to the south-east and another one or two joined structures to the north-west. The farm lies of the edge of woodland adjoining Slade Copse.
