One of a group of at least seven buildings on Whitehorse Hill as far south as Quintin's Man in an area favoured by the peat cutters. These are squarish in plan and smaller than the typical tinners hut, up to 3 metres across and are sited near the hilltop rather than beside streamworks.

(02/09/1993) SX 62278523. A poorly preserved structure located in an area of extensive peat cutting on the east flank of the ridge running south from Hangingstone Hill and some 400m west of the boundary wall of Teignhead Newtake. This feature, formerly rectangular with its long axis oriented approximately north-west to south-east, measures 3.2m by 1.8m internally. The stoney footings of the enclosing walls, where discernible, are a maximum of 0.6m wide and 0.2m high. The south-west corner and parts of the western wall are no longer visible. There is no obvious entrance or any internal features. This structure probably functioned as a shelter or habitation for peat-cutters working the surrounding peat deposits. The remains of three other buildings of similar function (SX 86 NW 27, 30 and 33) lie in the general area (citing Probert SAJ, 02-SEP-1993 RCHME Field Investigation).

(20/10/2003) This structure remains as described by previous authorities. There is no threat to this monument.
