Buck, C., 2006, Gawton Mine, Devon: Archaeological Assessment, 27 (Report - Assessment). SDV344672.

The capstan/horse whim, approximately 6 to 8 metres from the engine shaft, is a very good example of the type. It is a circular raised area of ground (overgrown with trees) approximately 0.5 metres above ground level. Other details: Figure 35, site 10.1.
