Full description
Buck, C., 2006, Gawton Mine, Devon: Archaeological Assessment, 30 (Report - Assessment). SDV344672.
The adit appears to be partially collapsed back from an unknown portal position. The ground above the existing opening is not particularly stable and measures approximately 3 metre in height, and has collapsed on its north side. The present opening is 0.7 metres high above water level, and 1.2 metres wide. Ochreous mine water is slowly flowing out of the adit and is approximately 0.5 metres deep within the adit.
