Summary

Northern of two post medieval tinner's huts of 5.2 metres by 2 metres with walls up to 0.2 metres high situated within an area of streamworks on the west bank of Summer Brook to the south of Flat Tor. An entrance gap lies in the eastern wall.

Le Messurier, B., 1976, Field visit (Worksheet). SDV320991.

Ruined hut. Oriented NE-SW. Rectangular outline of hut base. Walls low. Really only foundations. Barely noticeable. Floor of grass. Tin streaming not far away. Five metres N of PRN 7773. Internal dimensions 4.9m x 2.3m, wall thickness 0.6m, height 0.3m.

(30/10/1979) Situated in an area of tin-streaming are the very poor remains of two turf-and heather-covered tinners' huts, joined by a 0.2m high rubble wall.
The second hut, at SX 60538054, measures 2.6m by 5.2m internally with walling of similar dimensions and a central cross passage. (Extent of tin-streaming shown on 1:10 000 map)

(04/12/1994) Two tinner's buildings lie on the left bank of Summer Brook, centred at SX 60538054, in an area of streamworking (See SX 68 SW 123). The northern building (SX 60538054) is a rectangular structure 5.2m N-S and 2m E-W. The walls, of coursed moorstone blocks two courses high, are 0.5m wide and 0.2m high. An entrance gap lies in the eastern wall. Some 8m to the south lies a second ruined building, at SX 60528053.
