Ordnance Survey, 1904 - 1906, Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch Map (Cartographic). SDV325644.

A small square structure shown on the 1904-1906 25 inch Ordnance Survey map in this location is probably the site of the well house.

Site visit 30th November 1978. St. Nectans well is a stone built well house, 2 metres by 1.6 metres, 2 metres high to ridge of corbelled roof. The structure is probably 18th or 19th century date. Gregory says the water is used for baptism. Other details: Photo.

Nyghten's Well. Near church of St. Nectan.
Holy well. Probably late medieval but some reconstruction may have taken place. Stone rubble walls and gabled roof, stone ashlar on front wall. Small rectangular plan, entrance on east side. Raised stone coping to front gable with chamfered cornice above 2-centred arch with dressed stone voussoirs. Interior has slate extending across well just below wall-plate level . St Nectan's Well. Holy well near the church. Of probable medieval origin with C18 or C19 well house. Stone rubble walls and gabled roof, stone ashlar front wall. Chope (1985) doubts it is a holy well.
