Defence Post "E". A Pickett-Hamilton Fort 13313/40. Located under a grass area which appears to drain better than at the airfield's other two Picket-Hamilton Forts. The access hatch can easily be lifted, and interior is almost dry. The interior wall appears to be in very good condition, as does the lifting mechanism, which looks to be of the pneumatic type and also features a hand-operated pump. The compressed air bottle is missing. Traces of green paint can be seen on the rising mechanism and a hand-painted statement with reads: "Air Ministry Property". There is also a serial number which, although not clear, may be S621660/C17.
In fair condition. Other details: Map 9; Plate 30.
