Full description

Francis, P., 1999, Exeter Airport. Historic Airport Survey for Devon County Council & East Devon District Council, 114 (Report - non-specific). SDV323390.

Sergeants', Airwomen's Baths and Decontamination Centre. This hut is paired with the Sergeants ablutions block (Monument 78418) and shares the same water tank house and boiler room. It normally functioned as a shower and bathroom block, but during an emergency it could become a decontamination centre for women suffering from the effects of gas. It was extended around 1943 with the addition of a Seco hut built against an end elevation, but this is now demolished. The upper section of the walls has been removed and the roof lowered. Other details: Site 455; Map 14.
