Full description
Berry, N., 2006, Archaeological and Historic Landscape Survey of Wembury Point and The Mewstone, Wembury, Devon, 21 (Report - Survey). SDV345992.
The main explosive store was a large building located safely away from occupied areas, east of the firing site, which formed a separate compound next to Marine Drive. A large terraced platform remains, about 15 metres long north-west to south-east by 8-9 metres wide northeast to south-west. Aerial photographs show the a low square building partially set into the hillside, with another fenced enclosure protecting the rear of the building up the slope to the north.
