The small enclosure shown on the Tithe Map appears to be the north-east end of a long narrow strip of orchard, cut by Woolbrook Road. Map object based on this Source.

The Sidmouth parish Tithe Map of 1839 depicts a small rectangular enclosure on the east side of Woolbrook Road south of Stowford Gate. This is shown as plot 73, and in the accompanying apportionment is described as 'house, garden and yard', although no building is shown. By 1888, the Ordnance Survey first-edition 25 inch map shows the enclosure has been removed. A linear ditch, exposed in Trench 2 is likely to represent one of the boundaries for this feature, although no evidence was found for a building. Other details: Figures 2-3, 6.
